TECMA, the International Town-Planning and Environment Exhibition, a fair organised by IFEMA, will be staged to coincide with the second edition of SRR, the Recycling and Recovery Trade Show, between 8th and 11th June 2010 at Feria de Madrid. At its fifteenth edition, the fair will present the latest new features developed by the industry within a framework designed to promote the most innovative products, services and tools with regard to environmental equipment and solutions for towns and cities.
Both fairs are aimed at professionals and companies that manufacture, market and install technologies and products designed for municipal and environmental planning and facilities, not to mention recycling and recovery activities that are essential for ensuring the sustainability of towns and cities. As a whole, the fairs will occupy an exhibition area measuring some 18,000 square metres, based on the participation of 345 companies from Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom, among others. The exhibitions at TECMA and SRR will present the latest new features in the following areas: urban equipment; road urbanisation; parks and gardens; sports and leisure facilities; urban services; equipment and applications to eliminate architectural barriers; rehabilitation, maintenance and ornamentation; water treatment; sewerage treatment; treatment of other pollutants; and the protection and recovery of natural environments. Both fairs will also feature the participation of different trade sector associations.
The Recycling and Recovery Sector Provides Strong Backing for SRR
Organised by IFEMA and promoted by the Spanish Recycling and Recovery Federation (FER) and the Spanish Automobile Scrappage and Recycling Association (AEDRA), the second edition of SRR, the Recycling and Recovery Trade Show, will provide a key point of reference for the industry and a forum at which professionals can obtain extensive information regarding the most innovative ideas aimed at promoting sustainability in towns and cities.
In this respect, more than 50 direct exhibitors will come together in Hall 8 at FERIA DE MADRID in order to provide an overview of a sector that encompasses everything ranging from machinery and technological services for decontamination, recovery, fragmentation and recycling, to the re-use of all kinds of waste. The show will also feature the participation of environmental consultants and other activity areas that complement the business.
With regard to the products and services on show at the exhibition itself, SRR will present the latest solutions for the processing of tyres - including their re-use, recycling and re-treading - as well as the most advanced technology capable of turning tyres into an alternative form of fuel for cement factories. A prominent place will also be granted to the different applications available for recovering components from end-of-life vehicles or for recycling televisions and computer monitors. These advances have brought about a significant reduction regarding the number of tons of CO2 that are emitted into the environment on an annual basis.
As a whole, the show will present the recycling processes for all kinds of waste: end-of-life vehicles, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), televisions and computer monitors, batteries, tyres, plastic, glass, textiles, iron and non-iron materials, containers, building and demolition waste, organic waste, dangerous waste, and paper and cardboard, among many others.
The Latest New Features for Urban Planning and the Environment
At this edition TECMA will consolidate its leading role as the main point of reference for the industry and a forum for information where professionals can discover, at first hand, the latest new designs in furniture for towns and cities and for green areas, as well as equipment designed to promote sustainable maintenance. In this respect, visitors will come across a series of outstanding ideas in the following areas: urban equipment; road urbanisation; parks and gardens; sports and leisure facilities; rehabilitation, maintenance and ornamentation; equipment and applications to eliminate architectural barriers; urban services; water treatment; sewerage treatment; energy use and incineration; recycling and recovery; treatment of water, sewerage and other pollutants; and the protection and recovery of natural environments.
Among the most outstanding exhibits, we will find the following: urban sprinkler systems that reduce water consumption; lawnmowers designed to cover large areas; public toilets with self-cleaning systems; devices that reduce gas emissions and noise pollution; the latest prototypes in road sweepers and cleaners for small and large municipal areas; and independent container and packaging return systems.
With regard to the management of waste in towns and cities, we will discover the buried waste deposit lines that feature all the different elevation and emptying systems on the market. All are ready prepared for selective rubbish collection and feature state-of-the-art technology for cleaning and conservation, including ultrasound, among other systems.
The Activities Programme
Coinciding with the trade exhibitions themselves, a comprehensive Specialised Conference Programme will focus on the importance of developing urban services and caring for the environment. Thus, a number of leading companies and experts within the field will come together over three days in order to present the developments that have taken place over the last year and to exchange professional know-how and experiences within the different activity areas that make up the fairs.
In this respect, TECMA will provide the setting for the staging of two Symposiums: "Urban Cleaning Services, Waste Collection and Sewerage 2010", and "Play Area Surfaces As an Essential Safety Feature". These conferences will be organised by ATEGRUS (The Technical Association for the Management of Waste and the Environment) and AEPJP (The Spanish Public Parks and Gardens Association), respectively. Furthermore, as at previous editions of TECMA, the New Features Forum will bring together a series of informative sessions aimed at promoting and launching innovative products and services through a series of detailed presentations carried out by the companies taking part at the fair.
The activities linked to SRR will include the following: the staging of the Fourth National Meeting on the Management and Recycling of End-of-Life Vehicles, organised by SIGRAUTO (The Spanish Association for the Environmental Processing of End-of-Life Vehicles); the presentation of the Project for a Spanish Guide for Recycled Sand and Cement Products, organised by GERD (Guild for Rubble Recycling Bodies); and the staging of the conferences known as "Reach: Recovered Waste and Substances" and "Making a Difference through the Carbon Footprint", two events promoted by FER and REPACAR (The Spanish Association of Paper and Carbon Recovery Operators), respectively.
For its part, FER will organise the Eighth National Recycling and Recovery Congress, which will bring together a number of Spanish recovery operators and expert professionals working within the environmental field.
Another of the activities that traditionally coincides with the staging of TECMA/SRR consists of the presentation of the Brush Awards 2010, an initiative organised by ATEGRUS whose aim is to recognise the sustainable development initiatives and eco-friendly measures carried out by different companies and institutions.
Both fairs will be open between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m., except for on Friday 11th June, when they will close at 3.00 p.m.
