This fair will take place at Feria de Madrid between 17th and 21st May 2011
The fair's Organising Committee has been set up, encompassing various leading companies from the industry
Madrid, 25th February 2010.- This morning, 25th February, the media were introduced to a new fair project from IFEMA, EXPOMATEC, the Infrastructure, Public Works and Mining Machinery Fair, which will take place between 17th and 21st May 2011 at Feria de Madrid. This eminently trade-orientated event will take place every three years and represents a further step forward with regard to IFEMA's strategy to incorporate different trade fairs into its calendar. This initiative enjoys the collaboration of the TPI Group, which will act as the event's co-organiser.
This project forms part of the policy being pursued by Madrid's trade fair body to provide coverage of various new sectors, creating important new forums for promotion and international projection. The presentation of the new fair took place after the Organising Committee was set up, encompassing some of the leading companies operating within this sector of the economy, alongside representatives from bodies such as SEOPAN and the National Building Confederation, CNC, whose heads will chair the fair's Organising Committee together.
With this project, IFEMA aims to provide a key meeting-point for supply and demand within the infrastructure, public works and mining machinery sector, as well as an important forum at which businessmen and professionals can define their marketing and business objectives and boost their international promotion strategies.
Furthermore, we should highlight the fact that IFEMA's initiative in staging EXPOMATEC is based on the guidance of the TPI Group, a very important player within the sector, thus ensuring that the event meets the real needs of those who work within this industry.
One of the most decisive aspects regarding the development of a project such as EXPOMATEC, in addition to the potential offered by Madrid and the fair's strategic location, consisted of the Spanish capital's capacity to host the staging of fairs of this size with its trade fair facilities at IFEMA. Furthermore, Madrid is an important centre for business and decision-making with regard to large-scale tenders and contracts issued by Public Administration. The international projection that both the City of Madrid and IFEMA itself enjoy, also constitutes a crucial factor when it comes to boosting the process of internationalisation that the industry is currently pursuing.
. A Forum for Debate
Another of the added-value aspects of the event, in addition to its role as a launch-pad for new features from this industry, will consist of the creation of a packed Specialised Conference Programme, one that will feature the participation of a number of highly-qualified experts. The wide-ranging schedule of conferences, roundtables and other trade meetings that is destined to make EXPOMATEC a key forum for analysis and debate regarding the current situation within the industry, will be structured around three areas: events organised by EXPOMATEC; events promoted by associations and business organisations; and those events and activities proposed by the companies taking part at the fair itself, thus granting the sector itself a prominent role within the framework of the fair.
. A Highly Representative Organising Committee
All of these aspects will ensure the best possible framework for the staging of EXPOMATEC, whose Organising Committee was officially set up today. The fair's Organising Committee will be co-chaired by the heads of the two leading business organisations within the industry, Juan Lazcano, the President of the National Building Confederation, CNC, and Julián Núñez, the Vice-President of the Building Association, SEOPAN.
Other represented bodies shall include the following: the Association of Asphalt Mixture Companies, ASEFMA, represented by the Association's Manager, Juan José Potti; and the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification, AENOR, specifically its AEN CTN 115 Committee, represented by the Vice-President, Roberto García Ovejero, who is also a collaborator at SIMECAL (OCA - Authorised Monitoring Body).
With regard to institutional representation, we might mention Madrid City Council, represented by the Technical Advisor for Economic Affairs and Employment, Víctor Crespo Abarca, and the Economic Affairs and Taxation Department of the Madrid Regional Government, represented by the Head of Industry, Energy and Mines, Carlos López Jimeno.
The EXPOMATEC Organising Committee will be completed with the following members: the Manager of ATLAS COPCO, Jaime Huidobro; the Marketing Director of AUTENECHE - YANMAR, Iñaki Redondo; the Managing Director of FDA, César Luaces; the Marketing Director of HAULOTTE, Yolanda Espartosa; the Managing Director of KOMATSU ESPAÑA, S.A., Fernando López Velasco; the Head of Mining at SANDVIK, Enrique Mota; the Marketing Director of VOLVO MAQUINARIA DE CONSTRUCCIÓN ESPAÑA, S.A., Luís Puertas; and the Managing Director and Marketing Head of the TPI Group, José Luís de Prado and David Rodríguez Sobrino, respectively.
In short, these important companies will sit on the Organising Committee at EXPOMATEC in order to promote the development of an event that is born with an international vocation and that seeks to bring together a wide spectrum of products and services, which will revolve around the following sectors: earth works; perforation; demolition and recycling; tunnelling; mining and extraction; roads, compacting, accessories and implements; the processing of sand and cement and the manufacture of materials; elevation of materials and persons; freight handling; energy generators; and special vehicles for construction, public works and mining.
In order to host the staging of this exhibition, IFEMA will set aside Halls 5, 7 and 9 and the adjacent external areas, which is where the largest pieces of machinery will be presented. In this respect, throughout the duration of EXPOMATEC (17th to 21st May 2011), Feria de Madrid will provide a key point of reference and meeting forum for all professionals working within this industry, consisting of heads of public administration, State-run companies and consortiums, sub-contractors, building companies, concessionaires, mining and quarrying enterprises and leasing companies.
. Exhibition Layout
Precisely in order to facilitate the circulation of professionals from the industry throughout the wide-ranging exhibition to be presented at EXPOMATEC, the different products and services on show in the Halls at Feria de Madrid will be organised around the following specialised sections: Earth Works; Perforation, Demolition and Recycling, Tunnelling, Mining and Extraction, Processing of Sand and Cement and the Manufacture of Materials; Roads and Compacting; Accessories and Implements and Energy Generators; and, finally, Freight Handling and Special Vehicles for Construction, Public Works and Mining.
