INTERSICOP, the International Bakery, Pastry and Related Industries Show, which will take place between 24th and 28th March 2011 at Feria de Madrid, has focused its main measures on reaching an agreement with the industry's leading business associations, as well as boosting the fair's profile and projection abroad. This fair, which is organised by IFEMA, has now commenced its promotional campaign, arousing considerable interest among members of the industry, judging by the business response that has been witnessed regarding the event's next edition: 75 companies have confirmed their attendance to date, based on a contracted exhibition area measuring 6,500 square metres.
The support on the part of bodies representing the business sector within this field of activity is proving to be indispensable with regard to this favourable response. The latest body to sign a collaboration agreement for the next edition (the ninth edition) of INTERSICOP is the Spanish Association of Frozen Dough Manufacturers, ASEMAC. Specifically, the document was signed last 18th May at the IFEMA fairground. By means of this collaboration agreement, this important business association undertakes to support the fair through the auspices of its more than 40 members and its different communication channels.
The fair also enjoys the support of the following bodies: the Spanish Confederation of Bakery Organisations, CEOPAN; the Spanish Confederation of Confectionery Artisans, CEEAP; the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Bakery and Confectionery Machinery, Ovens and Equipment and Similar Products, AMEC AFESPAN; and the Association of Product and Service Suppliers for Professional Catering, PROVEA.
With the same objective in mind, the Head of INTERSICOP, Alfonso de Borbón, and the fair's Marketing Director, Marcos Torres, were present at the Annual Meeting of the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Bakery and Confectionery Machinery, Ovens and Equipment and Similar Products, AMEC AFESPAN, which took place recently at the Association's headquarters in Barcelona. This meeting, which was attended by representatives of around twenty companies, including some of the leading operators within this sector, provided an ideal setting for the participants to discover the details of the next edition of INTERSICOP.
The fair has aroused a considerable degree of interest among the members of AMEC AFESPAN since the association renewed its agreement with the Madrid fair last March. This business association will, thus, once again provide its full-hearted support for the fair on this occasion.
The involvement of exporters (especially in the case of this association) at the fair is set within the context of an industry that, in spite of the difficult economic situation at present, continues to be highly competitive, based on its considerable capacity to reach the foreign markets, as witnessed at former editions of the International Bakery, Pastry and Related Industries Show.
. International Appeal
Along the same lines, INTERSICOP is placing special emphasis on boosting its international dimension still further, by means of a series of measures such as the Show's recent promotion at SIAB in Verona. With this initiative, the fair's organisers managed to establish more than one hundred trade contacts of considerable stature.
This measure complements the presentations that have already taken place or those that are due to be staged for the ninth edition of the International Bakery, Pastry and Related Industries Show, INTERSICOP 2011, at some of the leading trade events for the bakery and confectionery industry throughout the world, including shows in Italy, Germany, France, Brazil, Mexico and the United States.
This intensive international promotion campaign, together with the work carried out by the network of delegates that IFEMA has set up in all of the main markets of interest, not to mention the support of 35 foreign trade experts that the Madrid Trade Fair Body shares with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid, will all help to enhance the important role that foreign companies traditionally play within this Show, whilst also boosting the attendance of foreign professionals at the event.
