The Exhibition has become an established, important event for the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector, and this year attracted 409 direct exhibitors representing 662 companies. A total of 37.3% of these exhibitors were foreign companies from 30 countries, a statistic that confirms GENERA's role as a benchmark event for the Spanish market and the international scene.
The high quality and diversity of the companies exhibiting at GENERA made this a very interesting event for the 28,984 trade professionals coming from 61 countries. This figure corresponds to 22,865 individual visits by different visitors on different days, and represents an increase of 8% in comparison to the results of GENERA 2010.
With regard to the fair's impact on professional areas around the country, it is worth noting that 51.15% of the visitors received came from different parts of Spain. Most were from Madrid where the event took place, followed by attendees from the autonomous regions of Catalonia and Andalusia.

PROFESSIONAL DECISION MAKERS
These statistics confirm GENERA's pioneering position as a great annual event for the energy sector. When the figures are analysed, the high calibre of the trade professionals visiting the fair becomes very clear. The most widely represented group, accounting for 25.6% of the total, was the Engineers, followed by General Managers of Companies, who made up a further 21.6%. An analysis of the activity profiles of the companies to which they belong showed that the majority are in Consultancy and Engineering for Project Development (15.8%), while 12.6% were from Government Bodies, 10.9% were from the Installation and Maintenance segment, while 9.5% represented Energy Services and ESES. Among the other groups there in force were the EPC's (5.5%) and Architecture Firms (7.51%).
The popularity of the activities organised during the Fair were evidence of the level of interest in the event, not only for discovering market trends and learning what's new in the sector, but also to offer a meeting point for trade professionals and an effective forum for debate and for sharing knowledge. A total of 3,412 people attended the presentations and activities such as FORO GENERA, where companies explained their new products and services; and the various TECHNICAL SEMINARS which, organised by leading industry organisations and bodies, offered a very broad vision of the current situation of the different segments that make up the energy sector, paying particular attention to topics involving efficiency and the use of cleaner production sources.
Optimised energy use and research into obtaining energy that is more respectful to the environment were also the focus of the proposals in the third edition of the INNOVATION GALLERY. This section of the trade fair featured 20 projects designed by different companies and research centres, which gave trade professionals visiting GENERA the opportunity to see the most avant-garde developments that will drive the evolution of the market in the near future.
The combination of a comprehensive offer presented by companies, and knowledge exchange and presentations featuring the most important industry trends has yet again proved that GENERA is the ideal setting for trade professionals to make numerous contacts and obtain up-to-date information about the evolution of the sector.
