Based in France, KERMEL is the European market leader in the manufacture of meta-aramid fibres for flame and heat resistant protective clothing.
With more than 5% of its turnover dedicated to Research and Development, KERMEL offer new fabrics and protective clothing made out of its Kermel® fibre. Some of our latest developments are exhibited at Sicur.

For Fire Brigades :

- KERMEL H66 FIRE SUITS CHOSEN BY THE FIRE FIGHTERS OF BARCELONA : After extensive field trials, 900 Barcelona fire fighters are equipped with fire suits combining toughness with outstanding mechanical properties and a very high resistance to degradation from UV light.
- KERMEL V50 STATION WEAR successes meeting Standard EN 531 and ISO 15384
- WILDLAND GARMENTS in single layer Kermel® fabrics : Using bright orange Kermel fibre, the garments have been developed in an antistatic fabric. It is also available in other high visibility colours providing a greater level of protection against radiant heat.

For Military and Public Order :

- CAMOUFLAGE COMBAT SUITS SELECTED BY FELIN® : Fabrics made out of Kermel® fibre have been selected for the FELIN® French military contract, including two versions for summer and winter.
- CBRN INNOVATIVE KERMEL® SOLUTIONS: Kermel VH50 and Kermel V50 fabrics have been designed to increase the wearer’s combat effectiveness, even in extreme conditions. They are the best protection against thermal radiation and flames.
- DESERT CAMOUFLAGE COMBAT SUITS: made from Kermel V50 fabrics, these lightweight garments (170 g/sqm) have been specially designed to be worn hot and humid conditions. They are used by UK soldiers in Irak.
- FRENCH NAVY COMBAT SUITS: they are made out of 100% Kermel® or in Kermel 

For Industrial workers :

Kermel® fibres deliver outstanding performance in protective coveralls for industrial uses (in petrochemicals, refineries, electricity etc.).
All products in the range are permanently non-flammable : all products associated with Kermel fibres are considered to be non-flammable throughout the service life of hte clothing.
No subsequent flame-retardant treatment is required.

KERMEL will display a wide range of innovative solutions adapted to the needs of the workers, amongst them :
- KERMEL/FR LENZING SOLUTIONS for industrial workwear, combining protection and comfort. The fabrics made up of 30% or 50% FR Viscose are mainly used by security agents. They provide protection from heat and flames, but also from acids and chemical projections. They provide constant protection from fire exposure and heat flash hazards. Ideally suited for hot climates, they offer a high degree of comfort.

- COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS : Protective clothing made from Kermel® fibres comply with European, North American and international standards related to clothing for protection against heat and flames, liquid chemical projections, electrostatic hazards, electrical arcs, molten metal projections, heat flashes.
